Shoalhaven High is a country school located in Nowra on the South Coast of NSW. The school was established in 1983 and draws students from east of the highway including Callala Bay and Beach, Culburra Beach, Greenwell Point and Falls Creek. The school is a Centre of Excellence in Creative Arts, offering a comprehensive curriculum, diverse extra-curricular opportunities, and specific features which include an Aboriginal Garden, Dance and Drama Studios and an Olympic sized grassed athletics track.

Shoalhaven High School in the Nowra group of schools is a school committed to personal, cultural and academic achievement offering a diverse academic, performance and vocational curriculum. It has an enrolment of 1000 students. The student population has approximately 13% Aboriginal students who are supported by two AEAs and variety of best practice programs like the Koori Language Program and “Success for Boys”.

The school is supported by Priority Schools Programs both level one and two. These programs support a number of important initiatives within the school – Literacy Support, smaller class sizes, community links, staff mentoring, Year 7 transition class and Head Teacher Learning Support position.

The school has an extraordinary dedicated staff that use their vast experience to enhance the educational opportunities of all students. All staff are strongly committed to maintaining a balance between the necessity to address the welfare needs of the students with the desire to provide high quality and engaging classroom lessons with high expectations of student performance.

The surrounds are complemented with tiled and brick pathways, rotundas, pergolas, shelters and seating.
The school's overall aim is to provide "Quality education in a caring and supportive environment." Our goal is summarised in the school's motto "Aiming Higher".

Other features include a Special Education unit, programs for the Gifted and Talented, and a supportive welfare network.
